- Tabs now span the full band width via justify-between — wide gaps with the
current 6 tabs, tightening as more are added (gap-2 no-overlap floor).
- Parties moved out of the always-on header line into a "צדדים" Popover, so the
band is shorter and the tab content sits higher on the page.
- Case subject (title) moved up onto the case-number line in a smaller font,
instead of its own line below.

Folds the standalone /compose decision-editor route into the main case page so
there is no more "sub-page" (mockup 18f), with the final 6-tab workflow order:
סקירה · טיעונים ועמדות · אימות פסיקה · ההחלטה · טיוטות והערות · סוכנים.
- New PositionsPanel — the chair's editing surface (threshold claims + issues
SubsectionCards + ChairEditor + background prose + case precedents + finish
rail), extracted verbatim from the former /compose "עמדות וטענות" tab. Drops
only the doc-strip (the overview DocumentsPanel is the sole owner — no dup).
- "טיעונים ועמדות" tab = PositionsPanel above + the aggregated by-party
LegalArgumentsPanel in a collapsible below.
- "אימות פסיקה" promoted to its own top-level tab (CitationVerificationPanel,
was /compose tab 3); placed BEFORE "ההחלטה" — verify citations, then write
(INV-AH: the writer cites only verified precedents).
- "ההחלטה" stays the single 12-block editor (DecisionBlocksPanel) — no longer
duplicated between /compose and the case page.
- Tabs are now controlled; the "פתח עורך החלטה" CTA switches to the ההחלטה tab
instead of navigating to the deleted route.
- /compose route deleted; header-context /compose special-case removed.
No duplication remains (G2): blocks editor single, docs single (overview),
citation-verify single. Design-gate: mockup 18f approved in Claude Design X17.

Implements the approved X17 case-detail redesign foundation (mockups 18c "A" +
18e "V2"):
- New StatusRail component — the integrated status strip (current-phase chip,
expected-outcome semantic tag, hearing/updated/sync meta inline, agents
Popover, manual-changer Popover) over the 5-phase pipeline stepper. Lives
INSIDE the parchment band (CaseHeader), so status is now visible on EVERY tab
(supersedes the overview-only StatusHero / reverses the prior INV-IA1
overview-only decision, deliberately).
- CaseHeader absorbs the rail and drops its separate hearing/updated/sync dl
(those moved into the rail — no duplication).
- Tabs restyled to the V2 "segmented" look (each tab a pill, active = raised
white card) with per-tab icons.
- Overview tab body is now just documents + agent-activity preview (status left
the body).
- StatusHero deleted — its content moved wholesale into StatusRail, so no
parallel status surface remains (G2).
Reuses the shared StatusChanger / StatusGuide / AgentStatusWidget verbatim
(G2). Design-gate: mockups 18c + 18e approved in Claude Design X17.

The two stage indicators in the compose page's "השלמה והעברה" rail
("הרץ למידת-קול" / "הרץ אימות-הלכות") were static placeholder text
translated from mockup 03 and never wired to data — they always read
"ממתין להעלאת הסופי", even after the final was uploaded and both
pipelines completed. (The real status was already shown correctly by
LearningStatusBadges on the case page.)
Wire them to useCaseLearningStatus (/api/cases/{n}/learning-status) — the
same source the drafts-panel badges use (G2). The trailing text is now
derived: "ממתין להעלאת הסופי" until the final is uploaded, then the live
state ("✓ הושלם · 12 לקחים הופקו · 12 הוצעו לאישור" / "✓ הושלם · חולצו 48
· 33 אושרו · 15 נדחו", or running/queued/failed).
Data-binding bugfix only — identical markup/classes (mockup-03 layout
preserved), so no visual redesign; within the design-gate bugfix exception
(chair-approved approach). tsc + eslint clean.

Full code review of the case-detail page (14 components) surfaced these,
all fixed here:
Logic bugs
- case-edit-dialog: form.reset ran on the 5s useCase refetch while the dialog
was open, clobbering in-progress edits. Now resets only on open→true.
- status-changer: `selected` never synced to async/external `currentStatus`
(stale dropdown). Reworked to track currentStatus until an explicit pick;
resets to tracking after save.
- decision-blocks-panel: `block.content`/`word_count` accessed without null
guards (endpoint has no response model) → potential render crash. Coerced
with `?? ""` / `?? 0`. `STATUS_LABELS[status]` now falls back to the raw
status instead of rendering literal "undefined".
- document-type-editor: `await mutateAsync()` in async click handlers without
try/catch → unhandled promise rejection. Wrapped (errors still surface via
isError).
Resilience / hygiene
- page.tsx: a transient 5xx on the background poll flipped the WHOLE page to
the error card and discarded loaded data. Now gated on `!data`, plus a
"נסה שוב" retry.
- cases.ts useUpdateCase: invalidated casesKeys.all, which re-invalidated the
detail it had just optimistically patched. Scoped to the list prefix.
RTL correctness (logical properties)
- agent-status-widget `mr-auto`→`ms-auto`; agent-activity-feed `mr-auto`→
`me-auto`, icon `ml-1/ml-2`→`me-1/me-2`, required `*` `mr-1`→`ms-1`;
document-type-editor list `pr-4`→`ps-4`.
Minors
- drafts-panel: `<a href>`→`next/link` (operations + citation links) for SPA
nav. agent-activity-feed: issueMap memoized; comment Textarea aria-label.
upload-sheet: `unknown` status no longer shown as green success (neutral
icon + "רענן לאישור"). citations.ts: case_name typed `string | null`.
Design gate: visual-touching items (RTL gap side, retry button, neutral
upload icon) were chair-authorized via the reviewed-findings approval ("fix
all"); none alter an approved page layout — they are correctness fixes.

Frontend half of the citation-verification panel (backend in #323), as the agreed
third tab in /compose — matching the approved X17 mockup 24-citation-verification:
- lib/api/citation-verification.ts: hand-written types + useCitationVerification
query + useVerifyCitation mutation (POST verify, invalidates the view).
- components/compose/citation-verification-panel.tsx: per legal argument →
supporting corpus precedents with the cited_by authority chips (אומץ ×N /
אובחן ×N), the exact supporting_quote, ✓ מאמת / ✗ לא רלוונטי verify actions, a
per-citation chair-note field, and the per-issue 📡 radar (unlinked digests,
pointer-only). Summary strip + INV-AH/INV-DIG1 reminders.
- compose page: third tab "אימות פסיקה" alongside עורך הבלוקים / עמדות וטענות.
No api:types regen needed (endpoints return assembled dicts; types hand-written
per the lib/api convention). tsc + eslint clean.
Invariants: INV-AH (writer cites only verified), INV-DIG1 (digest never cited),
G2 (consumes the one backend view). Visual matches the gate-approved mockup.

Chair-directed navigation/layout fixes (existing components, no new design):
1. "פתח עורך החלטה" moved into the case-page band actions (right after "העלאת
מסמכים") so it's reachable from EVERY tab, not only סקירה. Removed the now-
redundant full-width CTA from the overview tab.
2. Prominent "→ חזרה לדף התיק" back-link added to the /compose header (the
breadcrumb link was too subtle).
3. Home cases table: rail trimmed 360→280px and the title cell made min-w-0 so the
table gets the width it needs and no longer shows a horizontal scrollbar.
No backend / API change. The larger NEW citation-verification panel stays gated
behind Claude Design (preview 24-citation-verification already pushed).

Adds a new "ההחלטה" tab to the case detail page showing all 12 decision
blocks with rendered markdown content and inline editing that saves back
to the DB via two new FastAPI endpoints.
Backend (web/app.py):
- GET /api/cases/{n}/decision-blocks — returns all 12 blocks (empty
ones included) merged from BLOCK_CONFIG + decision_blocks table.
Exposes source_of_truth ("docx"|"blocks") and active_draft_path.
- PUT /api/cases/{n}/decision-blocks/{block_id} — inline save via
block_writer.save_block_content; warns (does not block) when an
active DOCX draft exists.
Frontend:
- src/lib/api/decision-blocks.ts — typed hooks (useDecisionBlocks,
useSaveBlock) following the cases.ts hand-written-module pattern.
- src/components/cases/decision-blocks-panel.tsx — accordion of 12
blocks; view mode renders Markdown component; edit mode is a textarea
with on-blur save (derived from ChairEditor pattern, setState-during-
render for re-sync to avoid effect cascade).
- BLOCK_LABELS in feedback.ts extended from 7 → 12 blocks.
- cases/[caseNumber]/page.tsx — new "ההחלטה" tab wired to the panel.

issue status, and agent status for each case — eliminating the need
to switch between Legal-AI and Paperclip UIs.
Backend: 4 new DB query functions in paperclip_client.py (issues,
comments, agents, post_comment) + 2 new API endpoints (GET/POST
/api/cases/{case_number}/agents). Comment posting uses Board API
with DB+wakeup fallback to ensure CEO routing.

The analysis-and-research.md content has markdown tables (ציר דיוני)
and inline formatting like **label:** strong runs, which were
rendering as raw pipes and dashes because the compose page used
whitespace-pre-line on plain text.
Add a reusable <Markdown> component backed by react-markdown +
remark-gfm with a custom `components` map that styles paragraphs,
lists, blockquotes, strong runs, and especially GFM tables for RTL
+ aligned columns:
- table: table-auto + border-collapse, wrapped in overflow-x-auto
so very wide tables don't push the parent card out
- th: whitespace-nowrap so the header row sets column widths and
every row border lines up row-to-row
- everything text-right + the whole block gets dir="rtl" at the root
Use it in three places on the compose screen:
- ProseSection (represented_party, procedural_background,
agreed_facts, disputed_facts)
- Conclusions card
- SubsectionCard field content — threshold_claims and issues have
the same markdown shape in their fields[]
react-markdown + remark-gfm added (~30KB gzipped).

The right sidebar with "רקע לניתוח" and "מסקנות" was stealing
horizontal space and forced the editable cards (threshold claims,
issues, chair positions, now precedents) into a narrow column. Move
both cards into the main stack, after the issues list, so the chair
sees the decision points first and the surrounding context after.
Collapse the lg:grid-cols-[1fr_320px] layout into a single max-w-4xl
stack since there's no longer a sidebar. Bump the moved cards from
px-5 py-4 to px-6 py-5 to match the rest of the compose page's
card padding.

Drop the defaultOpen={i===0} on the first threshold_claim — when a
case has a lot of material already on screen (research background
+ chair positions + now precedents), auto-opening the first card

Surface the new POST/GET/DELETE /api/cases/{n}/precedents endpoints
in the compose screen as two insertion points:
1. A new case-level card "פסיקה כללית לדיון" at the top of the
main column, for precedents that support the discussion intro
rather than a specific threshold_claim / issue.
2. An inline "פסיקה תומכת" section inside each SubsectionCard,
below the ChairEditor.
Both insertion points render a `<PrecedentsSection>` which shows a
list of `<PrecedentCard>` (citation + blockquote + optional chair
note + 📄 chip if a PDF was archived) followed by a `<PrecedentAttacher>`
popover trigger.
The Attacher is a Popover with cross-case typeahead: typing 2+
characters into the citation field hits /api/precedents/search and
shows distinct library matches; picking one prefills quote + chair
note but leaves them editable so customizing the quote for this
case doesn't mutate the library. An optional PDF/DOCX/DOC file can
be attached — it uploads first via POST .../upload-pdf and the
returned document_id is passed into the precedent create call.
The parent compose page issues a single useCasePrecedents query
and partitions the result by section_id into a Map so each
SubsectionCard renders its own slice without re-fetching.
shadcn Popover installed as a new primitive. sonner toasts wired
for success/error in both attach and delete flows.

Three user-reported bugs on /cases/[caseNumber]:
1. Documents tab showed "9 מסמכים" in the count but rendered nothing —
DocumentsPanel was reading filename/category/status/size_bytes/uploaded_at,
but the real FastAPI payload (case_get → db.list_documents) returns
title/doc_type/extraction_status/page_count/created_at. Rewrote the
panel against the actual document row shape, added a CaseDocument
type alias in lib/api/cases.ts, mapped doc_type to Hebrew labels
(כתב ערר / כתב תשובה / ...) and extraction_status likewise.
2. The "פעולות" tab showed a debug-flavoured paragraph "עריכת פרטי התיק
נשמרת מיד דרך PUT /api/cases/1033-25" — that was internal wording,
not user copy. Removed.
3. Overview tab showed the raw enum value "full_acceptance" in the
expected-outcome line. Mapped through the existing expectedOutcomes
label array so it now reads "קבלה מלאה".

New UploadSheet on the case detail page wraps react-dropzone + a
selector for doc_type. Files post to
POST /api/cases/{n}/documents/upload-tagged as multipart form-data;
the returned task_id is streamed via GET /api/progress/{task_id}
through the new lib/sse.ts EventSource wrapper.
Each upload row shows a per-file progress bar that transitions to
success/error on the terminal SSE payload. Closing the stream inside
the message handler avoids EventSource's auto-reconnect after EOF.
Phase 4 (task 86) is now complete end-to-end: create, upload, edit.

New /cases/new route with a 3-step wizard (basics / parties / details)
backed by react-hook-form + the caseCreateSchema. Each step validates
only its own fields so the user fixes errors in context. On success
useCreateCase invalidates the case list and the router pushes to the
freshly created case detail page.
PartiesField is a small chip-style editor for the appellants/respondents
arrays. The Home page now has a navy "+ תיק חדש" button that links to
the wizard.
Dropped .default() from the create schema — zod's input/output type
mismatch broke the RHF zodResolver generics; dropping the defaults is
simpler than plumbing z.input vs z.output through the mutation hook.

New /cases/[caseNumber]/compose route ports the research analysis +
chair-position editing flow from the vanilla UI onto the Next.js
stack. Reads /api/cases/{n}/research/analysis, renders background
prose in the side column and threshold claims + issues as collapsible
cards in the main column, each with a blur-autosaved chair editor
wired through a TanStack Query mutation with optimistic cache patching
(so concurrent reads don't steal editor focus).
Handles the common "analysis not yet generated" 404 with a dedicated
empty state rather than an error card.
Phase 3 task 85 is now ready for review end-to-end.

New dynamic route /cases/[caseNumber] wired to the FastAPI details
endpoint, using Next 16's async params pattern with React's use()
hook. TanStack Query handles 5s refetchInterval so the page
self-updates during long-running processing without manual polling.
New components: CaseHeader (breadcrumb + meta), WorkflowTimeline
(5-phase RTL pipeline view), DocumentsPanel (categorized list).
Tabs split overview/documents/actions.
